2016 has got off to a flying start with scooter sales already up 16.5% compared to the same time last year!
Figures released by the Motorcycle Industry Association show that the best selling scooter for January was the Lexmoto SCOUT 49 (pictured) with 42 items shifted, the three-wheeled Piaggio MP3 LT SPORT ABS also headed up the three-wheeled category with 18 bikes sold.

Honda’s PCX125 sold 132 units in January alone. Looking at just January figures for 2016 compared to 2015 shows a massive 21.9% rise in 51cc to 125cc two wheelers.
And whilst mopeds are down compared to January 2015, the overall total is 14.2% above 2015 sales, which in turn were 11.3% up on 2014 – so that’s a 25.5% increase over where we were two years ago in January alone!
