Episode three of Channel 5 documentary Isle of Wight: Jewel of the South airs tonight (Thursday, March 16) at 8pm and is due to feature the annual scooter rally.
Viewers of last week’s second episode will have seen a trailer for tonight’s show in which scooters were just one of the island’s summer attractions – this episode will also feature the island’s steam fair, and judges will make inspections for the Best Kept Village awards.
The four-part series celebrates the beauty and heritage of the island, following the lives of residents whose families have lived there for generations. So far it has featured fishmongers, a farmer debuting a new cheese, a diver making the discovery of a lifetime and the final of the island-wide talent competition.
The hour-long show is subtitled and if you miss it tonight, it’s available to view until 2026! Just go to: https://www.channel5.com/show/isle-of-wight-jewel-of-the-south/ and sign in to view the previous episodes.
If that whets your appetite for the rally itself, it takes place this year over the August bank holiday weekend (August 25-28) at Sandown Airport. For information and tickets go to https://vfmscoot.co.uk
